    Showtime Style Sign

    Please Read:
NOTE: All photoshop tutorials were made using Photoshop CS2. It may or may not work the same on other photo editing programs!

Step 1: This tutorial will teach you how to make a showtime style sign like this!
    First you will need:
a circle pattern (define this as a pattern: edit>define pattern)
a stripe pattern (define this as a pattern: edit>define pattern)
a vector (define as brush: edit>define brush preset)
You will also need a picture to use for your sign! I'm using this one. Then cut that out and make it into a PNG/PSD with the lasso tool and you should have this.

Step 2:Now you'll need to stroke your PNG. Go to edit>stroke and set your settings to match this. Then click OK. Double click your PNG layer icon on the layers palette. It should come to the Blending Properties window. If it doesn't go to Layer>Layer Style>Blending Options. Then click on stroke and set your settings to this. Then go to drop shadow and set your settings to this. Then click OK.

Step 3: Then go to the Magic Wand Tool and check the anti-alias box at the top. Then click once on an empty part of the document. Right click and Select Select Inverse. Then go to Select>Modify>Expand and set your settings to this. Then get your gradient fill tool, which is by the background fill tool, make a new raster layer on top of the background layer, and then fill it down. Then repeat the steps for stroking as you did on the PNG. Then make a new layer and add brushes to it. You now should have this.

Step 4:Then take your fill tool and one of your colors from your color palette and fill the background layer. Then go to to your brushes, and find the vector. Make a new raster layer on top of the background layer. Choose another color from your color palette and put the brush on the image like this. Go to the Magic Wand tool again, checking both the Anti-Alias and Sample All Layers boxes. Click once on the vector. Then go to your brushes and find a circle one. Make it a good size; I usually set it to about 20px. Sometimes you will have to make it smaller to get in the smaller areas. Take a third color, and color in every other vector or so so it's like this. I have three colors I am putting in my vector so I skip every two vectors. Fill in all your colors the way you want them and then it should look something like this. Add a drop shadow with an opacity of about 40 or 50 like I showed you before. Then right click the vector and select Layer Via Copy. Go to Layer>Layer Style>Blending Options. Go to pattern overlay and match your settings to this. Go to stroke and match your settings to this. You should now have this.

Step 5:Now go back to your first vector layer, it should be like layer 3 or 4 or something, but if it isn't it would be the one on top of the background layer. Take your magic wand tool again and set the boxes to Anti-Alias and Contiguous. Go around and select every other vector, in my case it would be every two since I have 3 colors on there. It should be like this when you are done. Then select the background layer, and make a new raster layer. Go to your brushes and pick some you like. Then fill the selection with brushes like this. Then select the next set of vectors after that one and fill those and so on until you have this.

Step 6:Then all you have to do is add a border which you can do by going to edit>stroke etc. and add some text and you are done! Here is my finished sign.
